If you’ve been taught directly or indirectly to carry everything on your own, reaching out can feel like breaking an unspoken rule. The stigma around seeking mental health support still lingers for many people, and it can make the first step feel heavier than it should. Often, those who begin therapy can’t quite name what they’re feeling. There’s simply a sense of shift, a question, or a growing tension between the life they’re living and the person they’re becoming. Even positive change can feel unsettling. Stress, relationship transitions, or an evolving sense of self can stir up old patterns or reveal new vulnerabilities.

I’ve worked with adults across a wide range of clinical settings, and each experience has deepened my understanding of how people survive, cope, and heal. My clinical approach is dynamic and responsive. I draw on extensive experience and evidence based modalities to help you clarify your goals, even when they feel difficult to articulate.

Whatever brought you here, reaching out is an act of courage. It shows you’re ready to understand yourself more deeply and to trust someone who can help you recognize and strengthen your abilities. You deserve clarity, steadiness, and a life that truly fits. Through our shared work, we can build the foundation that makes that possible.

Many of the people I work with come from diverse cultural backgrounds and may be navigating the pressure of balancing family expectations, cultural identity, and their own needs. Some grew up in homes where emotions weren’t openly discussed, which can make it difficult to recognize or express what they feel. Many of my clients arrive feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or carrying past experiences they haven’t yet been able to heal from. Together, we create a safe space where they can explore what they’ve lived through, in whichever language feels most comfortable. English is fine, and Spanish too.

I specialize in trauma-focused therapy, combining practical tools (like DBT and ACT) with creative forms of expression, such as art and telling your own story, to help you process what you’ve experienced in ways that go beyond words.

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and you don’t have to do it alone. My hope is to offer you a space where you feel safe to explore, discover, and reconnect with yourself.

✓ Anxiety

Anxiety works to ensure that we choose to be safe rather than choosing to act on our values. Working from an ACT and CFT perspective, we will tackle these challenges by defining your values and examining how they have a hand in your decision-making process.

✓ Self-Esteem

Without mental health training, negative self-talk can be the most persistent voice in our lives. It is our responsibility to learn how to confront these internal messages. During the therapy process, challenging these inner voices and tracking their origins will allow for an examination of negative self-talk and how it serves to damage our self-esteem.

✓ Stress

Stress is a powerful force. It hijacks our brains and limits or ability to think calmly and rationally. Through counseling, we will investigate new habits of thinking that pull the mind out of the fight-or-flight response and back towards feelings of safety and security.

I have found my approach resonates most with those seeking a deeper understanding of themselves, their relationships, and the world they find themselves navigating. I work with young adults, couples, and adults experiencing identity development, life transitions, interpersonal struggles, anxiety, depression, and grief, offering a space where thoughts and emotions can unfold, be met as they are, and develop into meaningful insight.

My approach is reflective, compassionate, and grounded in existential and phenomenological perspectives; in other words, I take care to approach each individual with respect for their individuality, culture, religion, lived experiences, and personal process of exploration. I provide a secure and supportive environment to ponder, adapt, and grow—embracing the full spectrum of human experience without shame, expectation, or pressure.

Sometimes, one of the hardest things to do is allow ourselves the grace of a listening ear. But when we do, a space is created where thoughts can settle, emotions can be felt, and new possibilities begin to emerge. If you’re curious, ready for introspection, wanting to be challenged, or simply seeking a place to be fully yourself, I welcome you to reach out.

Sometimes therapy starts with a clear reason, and sometimes it starts with a feeling that something just has not been sitting right. You may be dealing with stress, relationship concerns, life transitions, trauma, or things that are simply hard to put into words. I work with children, adolescents, and adults, and I offer therapy in both English and Mandarin. I also enjoy working with people who are curious about themselves and want to better understand why they think, feel, or react the way they do. You do not need to come in with everything figured out. We can start with what feels most present and figure out the rest together.

I hope therapy can feel both healing and brave: a space where you can slow down, be honest, and explore parts of yourself that may feel difficult or vulnerable to share elsewhere. I work in an eclectic way because I believe everyone has their own cup of tea, drawing from IFS, CBT, ACT, DBT, and creative work such as art and play.

I earned my master’s in Professional Counseling from the University of Pennsylvania. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive.
